Customer Relations Specialist

Summary:

The Customer Relations Specialist sources, screens and hires qualified candidates to fill position needs within the Customer Relations department, overseeing the hiring process from start to finish. The incumbent executes a standardized hiring approach, instilling a common understanding of corporate culture in new hires along the ways, and oversees the training and orientation programs for new hires.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Human Resources Manager while collaborating with Customer Relations to fill their position needs.
  • Write job descriptions or review and edit job descriptions written by others and maintain internal job posting library.
  • Develop recruitment programs, budgets and collateral to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings.
  • Coordinate participation in, set up display, and work at job fairs.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants.
  • Make public presentations at schools, organizations, and job fairs regarding the organization and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
  • Initiate contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings.
  • Review applications and interview applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job sills and salary requirements and to provide information about the organization or position.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews.
  • Perform reference and background checks on applicants.
  • File and maintain employment records for future references.
  • Analyze recruitment methods for effectiveness (time to fill, cost-per-hire and number of hires) and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS required.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Must be willing and able to travel and sometime on short notice.
  • Knowledge of relay telecommunication and public relations concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Ability to deliver results.
  • Recruiting and hiring experience a plus.
  • Attendance is an essential function of this position.
